Q Tip

Does anyone else have city water for watering their patch? If so, do you put in a holding tank to let the chlorine evaporate or just water straight from the hose? I read city water kills beneficial microbes from the chlorine, but wasn't sure if this really makes a difference. Just wondering what everyone else does that has city water. Thanks!

I cheat and use water conditioner that you pick up at a pet store for fishtanks. Prime is the best one for large volumes of water ... A little goes a long way.

In the past, when rain hasn't fallen, I fill up my rain barrel with city water 24 hours before using it to allow the chlorine to vape out of the water

Our town water treatment is chloromime. I have to use it as there is no other source. It doesnot dissipate like chlorine. I wish there was a way of getting rid of it.

I grew a 1300 lb kin using city water with heavy chlorine and chloramine and have been using this filter while plants are small. I just realized the filter was limiting amount of water to plant so i removed it.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I bought a 250 gallon water tank last night that I will pump the water into. Warm it up and get the chlorine out. Thanks again.

I have city water. I use a tank and pump to water. I water daily but fill as soon as I empty.. I also feed from the tank. I use a household water filter inline on my fill side. The fancy carbon filter style. I was hoping I could prefilter my water. Has worked pretty good for years. Growing them big in city water happens more often than we think.
