Hi all, pumpkin confirmed as biggest grown in Scotland @ 269lbs 2 oz from Ralph Trumms 695 seed at the Coldstream Pumpkin Club's weigh-in on 30th October 2003. Runner up J Brettell @ 133 lbs. We may not be growing them to the big sizes grown in the warmer parts of the world, but we have set the ball rolling here in Scotland. Has anyone grown a big pumpkin above our 55 North latitude? Thanks to all those great guys out there who have helped me especially Marc Petersen, Ben Boyton and Ralph Trumm. Roll on 2004!

Thanks everyone, there are plenty of growers in Coldstream and we have a club but they needed to know about the Atlantic Giant, now they know, all the questions are being asked, and this site is being sought out. I am expecting some fierce competition next year and have offered seed to all who want it in the area, though I think they will be looking at the seed lists in December now. I am sure that the long summer days in Sweden and Scotland could produce a real monster if we could just turn up the heat a little.

Congrats... I've been to Edinburgh some time ago, but I didn't know that there are any growers in Scotland. I live on 51 North latitude, and I've grew 154lbs (my firdt pumpkin!) this year.
BTW. I am doing the sam job here in Poland - trying to "set the ball going" :-)

With all these growers up in the north there's a message in there somewhere. Lets spread the word, N.Germany, Sweden, Poland and Scotland all doing the good things.
