Have a decent kin that unfortunately rotted off the vine about 2 weeks ago. The fruit is still outdoors under cover- and hasn't developed any orange color. At this point in the season and given that it isn't growing anymore is there any hope for color change to orange? I know some AG's just don't get orange. Does keeping it outdoors improve the chances of it turning orange or should i bring the sucker in the basement and keep dry in order to preserve the fruit for october. Maybe just spray paint it orange ;) Many thanks.

If there is no color then it won't really change now. If you have some color in it an olive oil rub will bring out some red pigment. don't put it on till you have it where you want it...It makes it slippery. Keep it as cool as possible.

Never Oil a pumpkin before it is weighed at a weigh off. It will disqualify you. After she is official polish away, Makes them slippery and keeps the kids off them.
