Gotta move my patch next year as I'm putting up a barn where I grew this year. One area has some incline to it - not level. Has anyone ever grown on a surface that isn't flat?

Gravity is a pain in the ass sometimes. getting the pumpkin to not grow over its blossom is work.

I grow on a hill/incline with on problem. its great for drainage like Kubiko said. go for it.

I grow on a slight slope. It does affect the shape of the pumpkin.I usually grow the pumpkin stem to blossom perpendicular to the slope and the downhill flank of the fruit usually bulges out more than the uphill side.

I grow on slight incline.
You can add soil or sand to level it if there is not too much incline.

I grow on a south facing hill (slopes two ways). Levelled the area where the pumpkin was, and that's been fine. It did however, play full havoc with automated watering - so suggested getting a plan for that together.

This year I tried gravity fed, then mains. When on, more water dripped out from the tape on the lower side of the hill; and then when off, water in the tape seeped out to lowest point making that area boggy. Really uneven.

Potentially looking at micro sprinklers for more even watering next year - although I know pressure compensated pressure tape exists too, so that's an alternative option. (this year's was normal driptape, as that was compatible with the initial idea of a gravity fed system)
