Well in have a couple seeds started for the first time in years. But I've probably forgot more than I reamember about growing giant pumpkins. So I'm looking for all the tips I can find, because honestly I don't have hours to search old posting, to find all the info I'm going to need to get up to speed on the plants, bug, and techniques to have fun growing these beauties again. Thanks in advance

1) When to Plant: plant the seedlings in the dirt as soon as the first true leaf develops.
2) Fertilizing early on: Just water for the first week, no ferts.
3) Tilling: If you aren't sure about how big the roots are just till now and then don't till again, that means in front or behind the plant.
4) Soil test: If you aren't sure what you soil is like get a test now. I wouldn't add fertilizer to try to adjust your soil this time of year i would just read the test and do foliar sprays.
5) Fertilizer: We NO longer fertilize heavy once every 7-10 days. We now very lightly fertilize every day or two.
6) ROOTS: Cover those leaf nodes with a root inoculate and damp soil.
7) Have FUN!

Jake do you mean don't fertilize in the first week after germinating, or in the first week after transplanting outside?

And unless you have a really great setup for indoor plants I would get the plant out of the pot asap. As soon as I see the first true leaf i plant it.
