Tied up my female after hand pollination, how long before I untie it , or should I just let it dry naturally and then pull it off?

Be very careful not to scratch the little thing...a fingernail mark now will leave a huge scar on the pumpkin ...exciting...good luck!!

Usually I remove the petals in the evening of the day of pollination.

I untie the next day. Then the day after that I peal the petals open to allow air to get to the stub.

I usually do like Jay.The petal usually comes off the blossum scar day three or 4.Keeping the wet flower petal off the blossum nub to avoid rotting is the objective. Your safe to do any of the above the evening of the pollination day.

Im next day and all gets removed. It’s hot and very humid here so rot develops quickly.
