By gorsh yes but if you don't want big trouble from said pumpkin you better make it a female name.

Good Idea on the TV shows! I'll be going by Dukes of Hazzard this year then, And the biggest Orange one will get a Big 01 painted on its side!

I normally try to pick a theme. One year was veggie tales, last year was power puff girls, hmmm this here I am thinking there will be a Charlie Brown, Pigpen, Schroeder, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty, and even a Rerun or a Franklin.

I called a squash "silent green" before, because it was pretty thick, you couldn't really hear anything when you thumped it. it didn't eat other squash, though.

The whole family gets in on the naming act. I've had Linus and Lucy, Barbie, Big Reggie (for the Puerto Rican nun from the Bronx that taught me in the 7th and 8th grade, she was as wide as she was tall). Last year Lewis and Clark were grown on the same plant. I've also named them for Sumo wrestlers. Have fun with it and you don't have to use only girl names. Heck, even girls now don't always get girl names.

If you attempt a pollination during a lightning storm, you might try the name "Sparky"
