I knew is was suppose to get warm today, 75-80*f. I'm On midnight shift so I proped up the hoop houses 4" on one side about 7:30 am this morning and went to bed. I woke up about 2pm and its around 77*f outside so I went and checked my plants and found my 794 wronski severly wilted, both cots and first and second true leaves are touching the ground and limp and the 3rd true leaf looks ok (about the size of a silver dollar. My digital thermometer shows it got to about 108*f in the hoop house near the plant :( Is there any hope of it coming back to life, its about 1 hour later and watered it and shaded is immediately and its now about 85*f by the plant. Its cell mate4 534.8 Andrews is just fine, no signs of wilting.

Last year my plant got that way in 100+ heat without a hoophouse. It was slowed down, but not out for the count. I think some seeds are more heat tolerant, than others, though. Sounds like you have the proof of that in your hoophouse. This is only my second year with AGs, but after reading about them ALL winter long, I would guess that it will come back, and the bigger it gets, the more quickly it will rebound.

Usually a light misting perks them back up. We survived a couple 108F experiences last year. Efforts to avoid this are worth while. Probably the easiest thing to do is resign the job & stay home to patch sit. Jeeze, talk about selfish...going to work when the plants need you...LOL

I forgot to take the doors of the hoop houses one day last year and I hit 119. Plants all survived and did fine. The plants wilt but they come back from wilt (usually), much better then sun scald.

Plant still isn't looking good 16 hours later, almost looked like it froze but It couldn't have, When I raised the hoop houses at 7:30 in the morning the temperature was 35*f out and climbing, and the sun was already shining on the hoop house. digital thermometer which is 2" from the plnat recorded 42*f for its lowest temperature. The cots perked up some and the 1st/2nd true leaf stocks picked up but the leaves themselfs are still very limp, the 3rd tru leaf that was emerging seemed to grow in size a little bit and looks normal. I hope it pulls through, my backups are just starting to sprout there radicals this morning.

if it looks like frost hit it, dark it color, chances are it's cell damage and will not come back but if your vine tip is ok then plant shall regrow.
