Hi from France,
What distance do you recommand between 2 giants pumpkins plants to grow them in a opposite directions ?
I would like to grow 2 AG plants on a same patch of around 100 square meters. I'm thinking to plant them in the center of the patch and train one of the them towards one side of the patch and the other towards the opposite side of the patch which allow me possibly to extend the patch easily if I see during the season that vines take all the place early.
So, what distance between the both stumps do you recommand ?
I haven't found this information so far.
Best regards, Vivien

At least 4 feet with walking boards in between them for sure. I do 6 feet.

There's really no set requirement for this, and the roots will probably overlap no matter what, but a comfortable walking space between them might be convenient.

Yeah, please use walking boards; I recommend at least 16 inches wide, grain LONG x 4 feet or longer. eric g

4-6 feet is perfect with a nice walking board left in place all season so you don't compact the soil.

Check out Chris Stevens´ patch from 2010 (the plant that grew the WR at that time)...looks like about 4 - 6 ft between the two plants that grew in opposite directions and sufficient room for walking boards in between.
