I would like to apply Imidacloprid to my pumpkins roots but all I can get is the: Bayer Advanced Tree & Shrub which has a 1.47%. Because of this being such a low amount I am not sure how much to apply to make it effective. Thanks.. Blaine

This is the second time I saw this question today.
We seek to apply .3 lbs Active ingredient per acre.
1.47% flowable contains .147 lbs of active ingredient per gallon since a gallon weighs 10 lbs.
So .3 lbs divided by .147 = 2.04 gallons of concentrate needed per acre.
2.04 gallons = 261.2 oz per acre divided by 43.56 = 6 oz
So 6 oz of 1.47% Imidacloprid treats 1000 sq ft of patch area at the rate we need.
You can deliver that 6 oz in however much water you like to use. I prefer 2 gallons, but any amount is fine. Regardless of volume applied, water it into the rootzone before the spray has dried. Or just apply it during a light but steady rain.

Sorry, if it was me... I do try to read the posts for any answers to questions I might have. Thanks for the doing the math. It's difficult for me to even understand it let alone figure it out...lol. Believe it or not, I took a guess as to what the rate might be and I was just about right... glad I now know exactly how much to apply. Thanks again.. Blaine

It wasn't you Blaine. I got an email from someone the same morning. It's all good so long as we're safe & the plants do well.
