Does the crack run in the same direction as the vine or across the direction of the vascular tubes?

IT runs the same direction as the vine, i noticed it when i was covering some dirt over and spotted some dirt in the crack.

Try to stabilize the vine to prevent movement &.or relieve stress. Soil under or around as appropriate. Watch for "stuff" underneath like tendrils causing lift but don't damage aeriel roots in the process. Leave soil off that area so you can watch it. Dust with Sulfur, Captan, or similar to dry the area & prevent rot. Prune leaves that are causing stress or better yet, get creative with bamboo stakes. Then relax & wait. Most of these minor splits cause little to no permanent damage.
