The top flight seeds can be purchased at seed auctions here on bp.com in the winter. They aren't cheap. For an 845 or 723 Bobier you can expect to pay $300+. An 805 Pukos usually goes for $150-$175.

Their seeds are out there- they vary from easy to find & cheap to hard to find & expensive ... and everything inbetween.

Aren't you new here cooker? If you're a new grower, I wouldn't spend too much money on seeds. I would wait a few years until you get the hang of what you're doing (I'm totally not assuming that you're a bad grower or anything, just that along with everything, you get better with experience). There's plenty of people here that will send you good seeds for the price of shipping. Unless you are well off, and don't mind spending the extra dough. Just my opinion.

Cooker, where are you located in Canada? I have seeds if your looking for some. Mine aren't as good as Joe's, but if your looking for seeds right away I can help you out. Send me your address and I will send you some to get you started.

Brigitte, "I would wait a few years", well that doesn´t sound pretty much encouraging to someone who wants to share the passion of AG growing nor as to any other hobby. If you have enough time to read a couple of books, the BP.com message boards and other internet stuff, just try to be some kind of an autodidact and you will learn your lessons pretty soon. As you just experienced there´s a lot of help for every beginner here on BP.com.

I believe what Brigittes intention was, is to inform Cooker that instead of spending money on seeds. Was to work more on patch preperation, and to spend that money on a good book like "How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II". To many new growers think that a high priced seed will give them that magical fruit we all desire. When the truth is hard work and experience is what makes it happen. Shannon
