my 3 girls just enjoyed there 7 day birthday & the largest is 16 " circumferance is this about right? im putting up shade this weekend...my main plant is down to 3 main vines i have 2 secondaries buried on each vine & the mains buryed 2 feet out from the stump....this has been the most trouble free plant i have ever grown except for constantly keeping her trimmed nicely(even compared to my other plant). i am out in the open & she seems to love the constant light breeze...my second plant had a female with 8 lobed i pollinated it wedensday...you guys think ill still have to cull the other 2 on my main plant even though it has turned into 3 mains with 1 pumpkin on each one?

Depends on what you are aiming for? Looking for a few of the biggest Jack o lanterns on the block, or looking to get one huge pumpkin with the possibility of losing it before this is all over. It is a decision you alone have to make. Once the season is done just as in life we can not do what ifs. So follow what you want to do. That will be the right decision.

My largest so far this season is about 16 inches in circumference too and I believe it's six or seven days old, so you're doing as well as I am. Im in Las Vegas though, and with it so stinking dry and hot, Im thinking it'd be bigger if I weren't growing it here. I know the one I grew last year was larger, but that was NS Canada. Good Luck with the fair.
