Looks like my plants are dying at the base but look good down the vines. What should I do? Should I cover them with more soil? Jean

It sounds like Powdery Mildew. Are the dying leaves covered in a grayish dust? Or are they wilting over & turning brown at the edges? They could also be very dark greeb & drying up. Do any of these conditions sound familiar?

Yes I think there might be some mildew. What will help?

You could type in powdery mildew into the site search and read many good message posts. Daconil is a pretty standard fungicide that is easy to find. Others such as BannerMax are also very effective, but harder to find. I use both. Many posts will caution to avoid spraying in the heat of the day or even in the morning or you may damage the leaves. Also, go with the lowest strength possible. I use half strength mixes (half of what the package instructions suggest). Tremor or other growers may have additional suggestions, but the search function will provide a lot of information. Good luck.

I used Immunox plus made by Ortho, I only had a "light" case, and after 2 applications, it seems to be gone.

More imortantly you document the time that the infestation appeared and under what weather conditions they came...next year start your PM application of whatever you find works best for you 2 weeks earlier...Keeping good leaves till the end will keep the fruit going...we all scramble for a few extra leaves come to those last weeks...diaries are important if next year you want a new PB!
