Subject: squash vine borer

This year i lost 2 giant pumpkin plants becuase of the squash vine borer.i had to replant pumpkin seeds becuase of it. what should i do next year to not have this problem. i need to no. thanks

I used Merit and didn't have any borers this season.

Smbo, im gonna use the same next season as well.Tenn, lucky this year i caught them before they could do any real damage, I didnt spray under the leaves enough like i was suppose to.Mostly all my svb's was found under the leaves. Veryyyyyyyyyy important to spay under the leaves , not just the vines and tops Of leaves, I found that out this year the hard way.Lucky for this site and the book "HOW TO GROW WORLD CLASS GIANT PUMPKINS I AND II" I knew what i was looking at and how to take care of it.(Great books by the way) Brooks
