Hi folks. It's been getting pretty cold at night lately and I wonder if I have sadly reached the end of my growing season with these suckers. Those in CT might be able to better answer this.
When can I start picking my pumpkins off the vine? I don't want to pick them one single day early if I can help it because I need them to grow as much as possible.
Thanks

Hard stem Pumpkins like CT Field & Howden can be harvested now or as soon as they turn orange.
The soft stemmed varieities like AG's should stay on until the last minute.
Frost may kill the leaves, but the fruit will survive light frosts. Do protect them from hard freezes.

Thanks Tremor, I'm going to move them tomorrow away from the sun. I built a lift with a ring and hope all goes well tomorrow.

Yes everyone says last minute, but no one says what the last minute is. Is last minute a frost? A deep frost?
