My life is now complete. A trip to Rhode Island to visit my wife's grandmother with an hour extra prompted a phone call to the Mecca of Atlantic Giant pumpkin growing, Dick Wallace's patch (well, atleast his pumpkin house). By the time I got there, 2.5 inches of rain had fallen and the darkness was upon my wife's Uncle Pauly and I, so we were ushered into the Wallace househould, or should I say - the Pumpkin palace. At first entrance, every ribbon for every GPC site were laid neatly on the table, ready for mailing. Very impressive. This gave me a quick idea that the GPC is in motion and working effectively.

Part one of two...

Part 2 of 2..

------------

I got to sign Dick's visitor poster immediately upon entering, which I found to be very cool. Onthe ride home with Pauly I said thanks for driving into the middle of nowhere, followed by saying it probably didnt mean much to him, but it meant the world to me. Pauly quickly returned conversation on the poor visibility drive home by saying he truely found out how much passion AG growers have by just sitting and listening to our fruit conversation. Pauly was impressed, while I felt like a kid that got to meet a rockstar.

Thanks for everything Dick, for that night and also for everything you and the GPC steering committee does. It doesn't get said enough by the masses of growers, so let me say it publicly, THANKS! (oh yeah, also for using the UNited States Postal Service for sending out the ribbons and banners!)

(Christmas you said? lol) ........inside joke...
