Dave & Carol

Team Munson

For more years than I can remember I networked with the Wallace's seeing them at seminars, tours, and at our homes. They have become more than just friends I like to consider them family. I have seen them endure more hardships that would make any other grower stop and forget about ever growing giant pumpkins again. They have given their time, knowledge, and resources out freely to all who would ask and see their students acheive bigger weights than they could and be the first to congratulate them. I am also sure that if you look up CLASS ACT you will find a picture of Ronnie and Dick. Their battle cry WAS "we got Munsoned again", well I have news for you boot the munson out the door you are the NEW WORLD RECORD HOLDER AND FIRST OVER 1,500#'S. It could not have come to a more deserving team and on behalf of the GPC and the Ohio Valley we send out a heart felt CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW KING OF THE PUMPKIN WORLD.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ALL OF US

Yeah, Dave. The scary part is...Imagine how much better they would have done if they had not been wearing those TUG bags over their heads all season!
Congratulations Ron & Pap...

Dave, I'm with you 100%! About 5 years ago I emailed Dick and Ron for some seeds and ever since then they took me under their wing along with probably 1000 other growers I know they cant even count, especially the new growers. There has never been one time that they would not return a email after I email them. Ron even took the time to call me on the phone to get my 1068 Wallace started after I was having trouble getting it going. Just goes to show you what kind of non selfish growers they really are.

This is also not to leave out Larry and Gerry as well, they didn't know me from Adam and they always answered every question I threw their way.

These are the kind of people that deserve records in my opinion.

Agreed,
Even during this obviously busy season, Ron and Dick answered all of my email and took time to take a call or two from me.
Thanks guys, my hat is off to you
You deserve the title!

Lisa....the Jacket....By 52lbs you're fitting Ron & not Dick....If cloth is still sold by the yard, that 52lbs saved the association a LOT of money! LOL

right on boys

good thing i did not grow the 1,502 or they may have had to put that jacket together from two types of material.

its bad enough that when they called out 1,450 for my pumpkin that during all the excitment al,l my so called good buddies were drawing straws to see who would give me mouth to mouth if necessary.

then, when ron went over 1,500 i jumped so high my pants fell to my knees. ( good thing everyone was watching ron ---i hope ) lol

everyone

on behalf of my son ron let me say thank you for the kind words.

at the end of the day its still only a pumpkin. yes we all strive for that winning pumpkin be it local ,regional or world level. we just dont do it at the expence of friendship.

not so. years back information was as hard to come by as a brook trout in the atlantic ocean.it was difficult to get a good grower to tell you much of anything.

thats what i like about the growers that have come into this hobby over the last five or so years. they are willing to learn, will to work hard at it, ask good questions, work well in a group, then pass it on down the line.( aka bigpumpkins. com chat and message boards )
