GPC officials, Can I please get our placing within the GPC for our Top 10 Averages..... I got an average of 307 for our 12 fruit submitted. I would like to know how we placed within the GPC. I would think pretty close to the bottom, if not the bottom.....Please email me or post it here, we have our sights set on improving next year and I would like to enter the #'s on the ColoradoPumpkins.com site. It is our goal to improve.....Thanks for your help. Gary

Yes, I figure we are 37 out of 37. We did qualify with 12 fruits and this will give our members something to improve upon and me a goal: To help others grow bigger & for our site to improve its weights. After this year 400SF can no longer call me a rookie..... I know we are not in the pumpkin belt, Ohio, SNGPG, Canada, and others, dont have to worry about us being a major threat.....lol but I do think that we can beat the 1009 lb Colorado record if we get a few things in line, learn and adapt. LB says we should send a shout out to our friends in Wyoming.......lol maybe.....lets have some fun..... Our goals this year, adding more members, getting the weights up, helping folks out and growing a new state record. And beat Wyoming in the heaviest.....in 07. Game ON? I am a competitor, gets my juices going and Im hard on myself, but having fun is the best part. There is nothing I would like better than to break the state record and go over to LongBeards and weigh his kin and see that he beat me......I'll have to grow his too for that to happen......lol but I would do that.....I would love to help or be apart of someone taking down the record......maybe I move to little Rhody.....its a thought I have been having more and more.......I already wrote the note to my wife.....havent given it to her yet.......Once she sees more seeds arriving from RI, she will hand me her note........ Grow em BIG

well, you can always win most improved weigh off site. I noticed that some weigh off's have mim weight.Maybe in the next couple yrs u can too.
It just takes time, in longmont (their first yr they are not with the gpc. They used a feed scale to way pumpkins, plus they had to be there a week before the weigh off, and the biggest was 220,But 2006 yr it was 660 and they had 20 pumpkins, and about 100 or so watchers.. A guy in a pumpkin suit, They even had a real scale (maybe this yr it'll be certified. hahaha.
As far as the pumpkin belt, were more like ankle bracelet.
Kansas,Ok,basically all of the dry midwest except the dakota's are looking to beat us/colorado. So we have to get serious this yr. Captain.

Whiz & Capt., I admire your enthusiazum and wish you the best for 2007. The most improved site award is a beautiful plaque in the shape of a pumpkin (of coarse) and has the names and weight of fruit for your top ten on it. Your site also receives a 1 year exemption from GPC sponsorship fee the following year. If you traveling to Niagara this year we will have all the plaques this year on display.
Good luck and we will be looking forward to seeing your results this fall.

Hey if we were a $200 site last year and go to $300 this year, would we be in for the most improved site race?

Yes Wiz, most improved site is for all levels of entry $100, $200, or $300. What you will gain by going to a $300 site will be your growers will be eligible for all GPC cash awards.
