The Indiana State Fair kicked off the GPC Western Hemisphere sites with an amazing pumpkin of 1,468#'s, congratulations Joe Richards on your 3rd biggest fruit of all time!!!

Ken D. is working very hard to get a preregistration sheet and expanded info for pumpkins and squash, so keep your eyes peeled to the GPC home page for these updates. When Ken gets the expanded info up please take the time to look it over and try to bring that info about your fruit to the GPC weigh-off(s) you will be attending. Also take time to fill out the preregistration form that he will provide so we can save the sites time by having your personal info already entered, thank you.

Joe Richards entry makes me think that if he can follow that up with 2 more biggies he will be a serious candidate for grower of the year. Will someone break the 2 ton barrier this year?

The Executive Committee will be watching for the 2007 superstars and hope all have a GREAT BIG YEAR!!!!

the preregistration will happen online - on this site, when ken gets all the bugs worked out. sounds like a few more weeks, so the early sites won't be able to take advantage of it until next year, but it will be a huge help to the guy working the computer for bigger sites that get a lot of pumpkins.

Vic, I agree...send the trophy to Joe today!!! LOL Hoping he has another one goin' and will bring it to the 1st ever GPC weigh-off in Ky. on the 29th of Sept...and by the way...all are welcome. Look on weigh-offs board for details!!! Hopeing this isn't a hijack!!! LOL Peace, Wayne

By the way, it was a huge BANG...incredible pkn...!!! I was very pleased to be able to witness the third largest pkn, ever hit the scales...what a thrill to see the numbers role up past the 1400 mark...put a grin on my face!!! IMHO...no 2K#er, but a new record this year....been hearin a lot of rumours!!?? but the BS stops...and you all know the rest of the story!!! LOL Peace, Wayne
