Beer, :D Gloves, yes...

Event running I add: thick black markers, extra pack of cheapo pens, scotch tape, duct tape, box tape, electrical tape, masking tape, bandaids and white tape; stapler and extra staples, push pins, hammer, pliers (2 pair), 3-4 sheets of white posterboard, a few sheets of dayglo color posterboard, roll of 'dayglow cord' (used sometimes for marking areas with stakes), hank of 1/2" poly rope. Pad of paper. My bag of fig newtons. Bottle of water.

Make a second set of sponsor ads, an extra two sets of signs (print off on 8.5 x 11" paper) and an extra two sets of rules. Towel. (size of small bath towel). Box of quart sized baggies. Bag of assorted rubber bands. Roll of iron binding wire (small roll 19 gauge). 2 8x10' tarps.

thanks for the advice, the gloves are definitely big.

i am not running the weigh off, so some of the ideas are a bit off base for my needs, though good.

i am just judging it.

thanks,'owen

I think it is important to have at least a document for each grower to support his result at the end of the day.

Good luck and have fun.

Forklift(s) with extra fuel.
Pallet jack(s).
Scissor type pallet puller (aka Jaws of Death).
Tow chain with hooks.
Lifting rings (2)
A couple used tires.
Spare 4-way pallets (some people are ill prepared).

I would have a flash light, spoon, and plastic wire tie as additional weapons of choice. Flash light to check the bottom of the fruit, a spoon to dig out soft spots, and a wire tie for probing, bristles from a corn broom work well also.

Looks like you have done your home work Owen nice job and good post!!!

I'm agreeing, I am on jury and also chief worrywart (organizer) of weighoff, so I need 'both sets of kit' :) Adding the flashlight (thanks Dave) and eyeing Tremor's list...

Tremor, what's the tires for? Just asking, I can guess but.

I made up 'weigh cards' to marker weight and name on so the grower has something to hold for Trophy Pictures, but running some 'official weight certificates' sounds like a good idea (fill in some blanks and sign and date so the grower has proof of weigh).
