This past fall as we witnessed another record breaking turn out for entries at GPC sites and a pumpkin that broke the 1,800# barrier. The GPC’s distribution of the prize package for most sites failed miserably causing the sites and grower’s unneeded stress on what should be the most enjoyable day of the year.

The GPC also realizes that this issue is still unresolved for many sites. We would like to ensure all sites still affected we will work for complete resolution of this terrible error on our part. The GPC is committed to make sure every prize package makes it to the sites that have them coming and not received them yet.

If the site does have the prize package or when they do get the prize package please mail out to the proper winners ASAP. Please keep all receipts for packaging and shipping and mail to the GPC for reimbursement for your expenses. If you need the address for the winners at your site we can ask Ken D. He will send them to you if the growers mailing information was entered at the site on the BP spreadsheet.

If you are a grower and you did not receive your GPC plaque or ribbon you earned at the site. Please contact the site you earned it at and ask if they have the award and if they do please mail it to you.

The GPC Executive Committee would like to offer our sincere apology for all the issues this has caused. We are committed to work through this till the last ribbon has been delivered. We also realize this has been a recurring theme for some sites. We pledge to those sites that this has effected multiple times we have learned from our many mistakes. We will assure you our commitment for prompt delivery in 2011 even if we need to deliver the prize package in person.
