The 2011 growing season has started for some with the rest getting started by months end in most cases. As the excitement builds the GPC wanted to inform all the growers of a huge commitment by RTI Industries (makers of Mykos, Azos, Cal Carb, etc...) to the loyal growers of the GPC.

In addition to his very generous commitment Neil has made to the GPC he has added a major boost to the GPC prize schedule.

* All $300 GPC sites will get RTI products to give the winner at those sites.
* 1st place overall in the GPC will get an additional $1,000 from RTI
* If the largest overall is larger than the current WR of 1,810.5# that grower/team will get an additional $1,000 from RTI
* If the largest overall exceeds 2,000# there will be an additional $5,000 added to the total.

The Math:
If (when) the Ice Man weighs his overall winning pumpkin of 2,001.5# at Smokey Lake he will get from RTI & GPC the following money in addition to any money made at the site.
$7,000 from RTI
$6,500 from GPC
$13,500 total

We can all help the GPC & RTI by getting their product in your local Nursery(s). If you have a local nursery that would like to add the Xtreme Gardening line RTI will send them samples & literature just e-mail their contact information to - Alan RTI <alan@reforest.com> he will take it from there to get them samples & literature.

This benefits all growers from the commitment RTI has to the GPC to give 1% of all sales from the Xtreme Gardening line. This brought in over $4,000 in 2010 to the GPC it helps us better educate & serve our growing members & sites world wide, this is in addition to the product & money detailed in the first post above.

Please help RTI to help you they have placed a great deal of confidence in us let's get out promote the company & products that gives back to all of us. Their proven products not only give us world class fruit bigger & better every year but their financial commitment grows at a faster pace than our weights!!!

I will close by stating that the GPC Executive Committee members DO NOT receive any money for personal use from promoting RTI & their products. We also pay for our all of our products like anyone else as this is our commitment to you for your faith in us. Our sole motivating factor is to better our sport/hobby for all growers & sites with out prejudice by helping those who help us.
