We are fast approaching the bulk of the GPC weigh-off season so we wanted to take time to remind all growers of a few things to make it an easier time for all participants.

PREREGISTER ON THIS SITE:
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=132

When registering please make sure your information is consistent any deviation in your personal information makes a new entry in the data base. I have been informed there are growers who have as many as 18 different versions of their personal information. Multiply this be 2,500 entries over 7 years & you can quickly see this will not be an easy mess to clean up. This can be avoided by preregistering & making sure your personal information is 100% accurate before you attend the weigh-off.

At the site take time to fill out the sites registration form making sure your information is complete with your BP ID & OTT measurements for you fruit. The BP ID is to help aid the clean up process of multiple address for each person. The OTT is to be used if the site can not get your entry officially measured.

Site administrators (data entry person at site) please take your time & ensure all entries personal information are 100% accurate. If the grower gives you their BP ID please put that in the notes section for their entry.

Thank you for supporting the GPC & good luck this fall!!!

But wait there is more.... Our good friends & loyal sponsors from RTI Industries the makers of the best soil & foliar products in the world have sweeeetened the pot even more!!!!

They will be giving in addition to site & GPC money $5,000 for the first 2,000# fruit, $1,000 for the GPC champion in 2011, & $1,000 for a new WR squash!!!!

Let's do the math - Pete Glasier takes his 2,000# pumpkin to Half Moon Bay, CA he would win in total money:
$12,000 - $6 a pound 1st place HMB
$5,000 - World Record bonus shown at HMB
$5,000 - GPC 2,000# challenge bonus
$1,500 - GPC champion & WR bonus
$5,000 - RTI 2,000# bonus
$1,000 - RTI GPC champion bonus
$29,500 - Total WOOOOOOOOOW now that is some serious cash!!!!!!!!!!

Let's do some more math - Glen Andrews brings his 1,500# squash to Port Elgin, ON.
$2,000 - PE first place squash
$2,500 - GPC champion, WR bonus, & feature veggy bonus
$1,000 - RTI squash WR bonus
$5,500 - Total goes to the man who knows green & you thought we didn't care!!!!!!!!!!!

Disclaimer - All fruit must be weighed at an officially sanctioned GPC site that is a premium member of $300 to get GPC monetary awards. To receive RTI money they must have used RTI products & also shown their fruit at a $300 GPC site.

Please support RTI they have shown their commitment to us so please plug them this fall for all cameras & reporters.

Biggest thing this fall is participate, it doesn't matter if you can win or not it is a about bringing what you have. You spent all summer working now it's time to have some fun so bring what you grew & join in the fun!!!!!

I also would like to remind you that even if a site does not pay prize money for a category the GPC recognizes you can still take it to the site & have it officially entered. Meaning if I have a field pumpkin & take it to New Bremen, OH they will take my entry weigh it & enter it into the BP spread sheet so I get credit for it as a legal entry for the GPC.
