Is there any way to get the ott numbers to use the melon chart for watermelons the sites are entering instead of the pumpkin chart? Thanks

That's the plan. We need the actual formula like we have for pumpkins, but we were thinking about using the data from the last couple years of GPC melons to create it from scratch for next year. We're in Ken's busy season now, so this project is high on my priority list for the winter.

I don't have the actual formula used to create the chart on the GPC website, but I imported the data into Excel and created a scatter plot. Then a regression line was fit to the scatter plot and I came up with an equation. It has a R-square of 0.9998 so it is pretty close.
y=0.0116 x squared - 1.5964 x + 80.503
y is pounds and x is inches OTT
The equation is not perfect but is much closer than the pumpkin chart

I am not sure what you said there Hilltopper but it sounds good.
We also need to have the OTT chart updated & some growers have asked for a longer tape measure in a nice wind up case.
Never a shortage of things to do in this amazing hobby/sport of our is there????
