Jane & I just booked one of the final few rooms. There are some left, but they are going fast. We hope to be there Thursday afternoon. We look forward to seeing our old friends again. Now I just need to register with the GPC & then we're good to go.

This will be the 17th straight GPC seminar that we've attended. How many growers can say that? You would think that I would know what I'm doing after all these years. But unfortunately, I haven't, as my PBs suggest. LOL.

I just booked the hotel too. Heads up folks, there are only 4 rooms left in the block and the nice phone lady said when those 4 rooms go, Friday will be sold out completely. She did say that some rooms would come available on Saturday if that helps anyone who would be showing up late.

The Hotel has booked up fast & there will most likely be few to no rooms left. If you are planning on going & the rooms have run out the GPC & the Hotel are looking for other options in the vicinity & will post those when we have them.

To be clear the Hotel rooms are sold out or close to being sold out we still have enough room in our meeting room for over 300 people. You can get rooms to sleep at another hotel but there will be plenty of room for anyone wanting to attend the Big Show so please continue to register for the amazing event.

Sunday 3/22/2015
•    9am – Session opens, this is a very informal session focused on answering all your questions. The presenters from the weekend will be brought back for this Q&A session.
•    As a special treat we will have Beni Meir live via Skype to answer your questions. Beni is also letting us use the power point from his presentation given at the Big Show in Orlando 2014. This will be the only time he will be available to answer questions “live” on this side of the Atlantic Ocean.
•    12pm – The seminar closes have a safe trip home & thank you for supporting the GPC we will see you in Lymington UK next year!!!!

Great news we have had some rooms open up I just got this news from the Hotel so call now before they fill up!!!!

If they do fill up we have these arrangements made, the direct quote from the Genetti Hotel:

I also heard back from my contact at the Fairfield and we have 20 rooms blocked off under the name “Great Pumpkin Commonwealth”. You will receive the same rate as you do here at Genetti’s. The hotel reservation number is (570) 208-4455.

We will be able to expand this room block if they sell out so don't worry we will make sure everyone has a room for the best possible price so don't delay make your reservations & register today!!!!

It seems there is some confusion about the Hotel rooms & the space available for the Big Show I was sent this from a posting on facebook I removed the names so we could address the questions only:


Will I was going to go to the big pumpkin show in Pennsylvania .but guess what .all sold out what a joke must just want select few there . Brite side will head south

Don't feel bad pretty sure if they over booked the hotel they did the same with the seminar. This will be like going to a sporting event were they take your money but it's up to you to find a place to park ,set and eat . Been there and done it before. you probably have done it too now that your kids are in to sports

I'm still at a loss why Wilkes Barre, PA was chosen VS a fun and/or warm location that people would enjoy visiting in the winter.

Yep. Its also so late if your showing at the fair you better have pumpkins started by now

Like I said its there for the big dogs not the pups

Answers to questions in order:

No there have been more rooms added for the growers to book but these could also sell out soon & when it does we have made arrangements at another hotel so we can accommodate all growers who wish to attend.

The GPC does not book the rooms we reserve them in blocks when the rooms fill the Hotel assigns more rooms to our block. This hotel is not as big as the ones we have used in the past & we are not their only client for this weekend. The GPC has done everything in our power to make sure we provide the best possible Hotel to host our event & make sure we can give ALL growers the best possible experience for their hard earned dollars.

We are really not sure where you have been but obviously have not attended the Big Show in Orlando or Las Vegas but I guess those are not warm fun places that people enjoy going to in the winter.

We start Friday with our Pumpkins 101 class that will have 2,000 pound growers John Hawkley, Bill Neptune, Pete & Cindi Glasier on a panel to answer questions during this class so experience is not necessary this is to cover the basics.

The GPC works very hard & spends many hours working to put on this event so it will have something for every experience level with a commitment to "leave no question unanswered". We look forward to constructive criticism & will do our best to answer your questions. We are not perfect & sometimes things do not go as planned but be assured we will everything we can to make it right for all growers whether they are big or little dogs.

As of today there were 5 rooms left so you better book now if you want to stay at the Genetti Hotel. We do have a block at the Fairfield so you will have a small commute.
