12 years ago Ken started the BP spread sheet that goes out to all GPC sites to record their results. These results are then uploaded for all to see & follow through out the fall. It is there so no matter how big or small your entry is the grower get's recognition for their efforts.

This amazing tool only works if the growers watch over it & maintain it. Ken & the GPC executive committee watch over the program to make sure that all sites get this tool to utilize. But it is the growers who are ultimately responsible for the EXECUTION of the spread sheet on weigh-off day. Here are some reminders to watch for to make sure your results are uploaded in a timely manner.

- If you do not see your site listed in the GPC Weigh-off Results By Site/Class 2016 (http://www.bigpumpkins.com/WeighoffSiteList.aspx?y=2016&st=GPC) page on this site 4 days before your weigh-off contact the GPC.
- Preregister for each entry you will be taking to the site you are attending - Register On-line for a GPC Weigh-off - http://www.bigpumpkins.com/WeighoffRegistration.aspx
- Find the person entering the results on the BP spread sheet & make sure they are getting your information inputted correctly & that it is complete before leaving the site.
- If you do not see your results posted to BP with in 2 days contact the GPC to let them know.

This is nothing new for 12 years all GPC sites have used this tool for recording their results. The only issue that occurs every year is the lack of EXECUTION at the site & grower level. There is no need for excuses just the need for the growers to help make this process a seamless one.

I have fought this battle from the beginning & each year it frustrates me to no end looking for results that aren't there.

Speaking of getting things done on time, when should we be expecting our ribbons for the weigh off? Ours is 3 weeks away and haven't received anything even though we were one of the first weigh offs to pay our dues. Last year we got them 2 days before the weigh off (adds a lot of unnecessary stress in my opinion). Hopefully it's a bit sooner this year.

I am working on getting the sites setup everyday. At the same time I am troubleshooting issues with people around the world and sometimes English is not their first language. Then there are some sites that don't have a Windows based computer or someone to do the work, so I am entering their data. All this takes time.

Yea Dave, you are damn right.
@Ken: Is there any possibility that we in EU or all countries using ü ä ö and ß can fill that letters in the BP form? That causes the most errors in my Region, and people are getting frustrated. Me as well!

Hi Mario, yes I am aware of the problem with the special characters used in names of some EU growers. Unfortunately, the fix is involved and will have to be done outside of the weigh-off season.
