As we come down the home stretch for the weigh-off season I did some preliminary figures on the standings for the 2017 Grower of the Year award.
5,883 - Todd & Donna Skinner 5,823 - Steve Sperry 5,605 - Joel Holland 5,364 - Cindy Tobeck 5,203 - Joe Jutras (this is with all squash many kudos Joe!!!)
These are unofficial & there are many sites that have not submitted their results so if there is any mistakes or missed entries keep this in mind. Now are there any dark horses not accounted for that might creep in at the wire?

How is the grower of the year determined? Biggest grown in the year? Total weight grown on 3 plants? Is the award subjectively based?
Thanks PG

5,883 is the total weight to beat. Current top 5 leaders:
5,883 - Todd & Donna Skinner 5,823 - Steve Sperry 5,694 - Ruben Mendi 5,605 - Joel Holland 5,364 - Cindy Tobeck
Really don't see this changing much, however said, we are still missing data, deadline has been posted so get on your data entrée folks to get it done.

Hey Wizzy, I have an algorithm worked out for quickly doing the GOTY calculation on the full data set once we get names formatted the same. Hit me up once all the data are in and approved and we can bang it out super fast.

Bathabit, you are correct, typo on our post should read 1532, 1748 and 1803 for a total of = 5083. 4# does make a big difference (isnt that right "Terminator" Tree Doctor) oh wait Jim, Dani and I smoked you by 5# there so room to spare at that one! (LOL)
Thank you Mr Holub for pointing out the typo!
