There are only 5 people from the Country of Canada registered to come to the Big Show. What's going on?

Needs to be in a more central location so the southern growers don't have to travel cross country EVERY year. Plus the weather is a lot better in March. Its been everywhere else NE, NW, UK, NCentral... Why not a central location like Nashville, Memphis, or St. Louis?

Jane & I have a hotel room booked. We will be driving & will register when we get there. We figure if there is a bad winter storm & we have to cancel out, then we won't have to worry about getting a refund. Hopefully we'll see you all there.

Not sure how moving it south will attract more Canadians, however I do know as long as Eddy is the National spokesperson they'll never show up! Oops, damn outside voice. lol

Hopefully not many are planning on showing up and registering at the door. That can throw the head count for lunch and dinner way off. These things take a lot of advance planning and we don't want anyone going away hungry. Thanks for your consideration. Woody

I will know next week what the time frame is on head count for lunch and dinner. If you are a maybe, please be considerate to let us know so we can consider the numbers, like Woods said so everyone is taken care of. If 20 show up at last minute, would be a problem. Thanks Wizzy

Speaking from experience, walk-ins are welcome. It will take some scrambling if there are a lot, but it will make the event that much better. Maybe we can get a couple blocks of cheese or tacos from Taco Bell. It'll all come together! Can't wait!!!!

Then I guess this is my warning that we will be signing up on the Friday then. We've only missed 3 conventions (Penn-W-B, UK & Portland) since the late 1990s, when we were in Guelph. We'll be there unless there is a huge storm.

Hey Jim, title said GPC big show, since you obviously don't care what the southern growers think I see this is useless to even try and get a event in the south. Just like getting another warm weather fruit fell on deaf ears. Pointless to email cause I'll get another bs response just like what Wissy sent to tell me if we see more lopes at weigh offs it'll be considered. I go to 5-7 weigh offs a year and NEVER have seen a marrow. But hey the UK got a big show and marrow now... Hmm...

Looking forward to the Big Show in Green Bay, looks to be well attended. Can't wait to see old friends and make new ones. I too would welcome it in Nashville, always fun and fair to see it in a new area. But, as I remember when it was in Orlando there was less than 50 of us. I think we all still had a great time, and the board worked very hard to put on a good show.

Likely, the very low loonie and costs of flights makes attendance for many Canadian's out of reach. It is a great event but can be quite expensive for the average grower to attend.

Is it advisable to bring seeds to this event for trade?

I was hoping to attend this year but its about a 14 hr drive for me and I'm limited on the time I can take off this year. I looked into flights but $1000 Cdn return, not doing it, Oh well, maybe next year!

There may be a room or two opened up due to a few growers that last minute could not come. You would have to call the Lodge Kohler to inquire. Boots now on the ground, light rain, but no snow or wind. Getting ready for setup.....Going to be epic.
