I've seen pictures of three fruit grown from this seed, and they are all tall in height, and short in length. Almost wheel-like.
Are there any exceptions to this fruit shape, from the 1016 Delatas?

I grew the 1016 this past season, and it had great shape and color. It didn't resemble a wheel shape at all. It was officially weighed at 820.5 lbs, about 10% heavy. I self pollinated it. Might be a pretty durn good seed to try if anyone would like to.

I saw a picture of the 851.5 Companion today(grown from the 1016 Deletas). It had a nice shape, not a wheel. I may be shooting you an email soon.

I ended up with a 619.5# selfed pumpkin on the 1016 Daletas (sp?), this year after repeated attempts to pollinate with the 898 Knauss aborted. (It appears certain females may be extremely particular of their suitor, can this be paralleled with humans?) My pumpkin won the "Howard Dill Award" in the Ohio Valley, for "prettiest" pumpkin, was nicely shaped, and nicely orange, definately NOT a wheel! I also believe Mr. Razo grew a nice orange "non-wheel" pumpkin from the 1016 in 2004.

I had a 1016 Daletas crossed with a 1458 Whittier, 997.5 lbs. First place at the Rochester state fair (NH), taped 930 lbs. Definitely not tire shaped.
