I had a really nice almost neon orange pumpkin that weighed 374 est. Can someone maybe tell me what back ground they think my 374 picked this color up from. It was from the 940 L. Wentzell pumpkin (900 wentzell x 875 Dill) Here is a link to my pumpkin.

Does anyone know of any other 940 seeds that produced a nice orange like mine? If so can you please send me a picture or web addy.

thanks guys,
Brooks

Found it! gotta be from the 801.5 Stelts and the 846 Calai. I had no idea that this pumpkin was in its back ground, what color was the seeds in ether the 801 or the 846? The seeds out of my 374 are pure white.

Brooks,
Based on the great color of your pumpkin(I saw in your diary), I bought seeds from Howard Dill the were a 940 Wentzell X 810 Dill. Should produce great color.
Do you know the cross of the 900 Wentzell?

900 Wentzell('02) 871 Wentzell('01) x 846 Calai('99)
871 Wentzell('01) 793 Wentzell('00) x 914 Wentzell('98)
793 Wentzell('00) 802 Wentzell x 780 Eaton('98)
802 Wentzell('98) 606 Wentzell('97) x 810 McInnis('96)

This should cover some of the family tree, I could keep going if you want. I'm growing the 793 this year.

NS,
Here is a post that was made before Christmas about the white seeds, At the time I posted, I didnt put 2 and 2 together that the 900 Wentzells mother was the 898 Knauss even though it was mentioned in that very post I posted in back before Christmas. It went right over my head.(must have been drinking)

Here is the post, Its very interesting.

What color was the 900 wentzell? Im think i remember it being a light yellowish color.

I know the 940 Wentzell was yellowish in color but it wasnt done growing before it blew ether so it still could have turned orange right?, here is the pic of the 940 wentzell(my 374's Mother)

875 Dill 99 (914 Wentzell 98 x 715 Dill 96)
715 Dill 96 (567.5 Mombert 92 x 804 Zehr 94)

914 Wentzell 98 (1006 Greer 96 x 782 Wentzell 97)

Plenty of 567.5 in it's background.
