You all know how crazy the last weeks of the school year are! Sorry to have taken so long... work, work, work...

Going to try and get my diary loaded after the final exams next week... but here's a very quick update:

Ended up planting 12 GP's .. Couple of Mudd's, Bosworth's, Garret's (sp?) and one other that I can't remember off the top of my head......

Then two things happened within a week:

Had a literal 'swarm' of Colorado Potato Beetles show up - doing battle now.. but have a lot of holes in the leaves. (bastards are coming out in the rainstorms and eating between pesticide applications... I'm going to have to treat the ENTIRE garden - so much for staying organic this year!)

Then It got down to 20 degrees two nights in a row. I was out of town at a conference the first night - but my fiancee' covered everything the best he could.... Think I lost one or two GP plants - pretty sure the tomatoes, peppers and edible squash will have to be replanted this sunday.

Those varieties that didn't germinate - I will try one more round. But this time after I soak them - I will plant them directly in the beds w/floating row covers on them...

Are you sure about Colorado Potato Beetles eating your pumpkins? I have never in all my years of gardening seen a Potato Beetle eat a Pumpkin Plant. Potato beatle Normally start out as larvae on the plant.

Sounds like Cucumber Beetle to me. Try Merit for stress free growing.
