Has anyone taken a seedling and make clones from it and planted them? I tried it this year and it appeared easily to accomplish. It looks like it would be easy to make 5 or 6 clones.

Yeah, I also would be interested to learn how you did that...have one 845, make 5 of it...

floh I wanted to see if I could do it if I ever got a seed like the 845. From the comments, seedling maybe the incorrect term. I planted a seed in a tote and when it sent out a main vine I ran it into a pot and covered it, after about a week I cut it from the mother plant. This was repeated with the first couple of secondaries. This seems to be a much easier method than trying to keep them all winter.

That way you cloned the plant in an early stage. The trick would be to find the right time to start (during winter I suppose) to have a couple of fresh clones from your seed in May.

A seed is a seed including an 845,723,846,898...etc...But if the seed produces a vigorous plant with outstanding results, well then it is clone time. I am a veteran clone person , as Have done it many many times here is a link to when things were getting going about a year after we stumbled on to the cloning stuff... {http://www.pumpkinnook.com/howto/clone2.htm }..Well that was back in 1999, or 2000...And I am the guy holding the clone showing how well they can take root on feb 11, 2001.......Wow it seems decades ago...But anyway good luck with your cloning project, and with getting a big one for 2005....JK..
