I am growing the following six pumpkins, and am wondering what I should do with their crossing/selfing. My ultimate goal is to make a cross that will improve the better characteristics of that seed. I also want to increase weight gains, I don't care about beauty of the pumpkins. (E.G 664.5 Liggett grew slow, but steady the whole way, cross it with something that grew really fast, but slowed down quite quickly in the end). The six pumpkins I am growing are the 664.5 Liggett 03, the 876 Mombert 03, the 1109 LaRue 04, the 977 Hester 03, the 753 Eaton 04, and the 822 Hester 03. Hope some of the people that grew these pumpkins could perhaps suggest what cross/self would work well, as well as why you think so. All advice would be muchly appreciated, however.
