Shortest stem I have seen so far on a pumpkin.

Short stems on 1260 Weir crosses seem to be a genetic thing. I always had them, but it never became a problem later.
Good luck with your 1370 x 1260 cross, I hope it will set for you. I´m looking to do the same cross tomorrow. My 1370 has a double vine though...1260 has a triple main that divided several times...looks like a Hydra now.
Must have something to do with the cold spring I guess.

My 905 Ailts (898 Knauss x 1260 Weir) has beautiful looong stems. Did the 898 have long stems? Pumpkins are also very round.
