I would start them the last week of April. Use a sterilized seed starting medium. Get the mixture wet and then squeeze the water out of it. Plant your seeds in it and move it to a place where the soil as well as the air is 85 degrees.
Problems Iv'e encountered are the soil is too wet or the soil is too cool.

I start the germination process on May 1st, in a 2 pound coffee can ( bottom cut out with the plastic lid on ) and set them on a germination mat and as soon as the 1st true leaf appears I get them out . I just soak them in warm water for 8-10 hours. but if things worked for you this year I would stick with it.
Good luck this year and next

well it worked out fine for me but we planted generic seeds the seeds im hoping to plant next yr will have come from parents that where germinatied by special methods such as hr soaks in homemade brews or heating type chambers i was just curious does my seed need the same treatment to grow does it need that special kick to germinate or does it depend on what i decide to do with the whole process but thanks for the coffe can idea that would work a whole lot better then the method we did which was turn it over and hope for the best after all this was a first yr but next yr were talking about the real yr with genetic known seeds lol thanks have fun grow big see you mabye at the weigh offs
