I noticed something interesting with seeds that are throwing huge pumpkins. Whether it's old news or not, I think I'm finally onto something here.
Lets look at the 842 Eaton. 846 X 723, some sort of hybrid vigor, two unrelated parents. This combination has been proven with lots of other seeds as well. Or, the 1068 Wallace, 845 Bobier X 898 Knauss. Another unrelated cross that produces huge fruit.

Now for something a little different, the 1370 Rose, 1260.4 Weir X 712.2 Kuhn
Both the females are 935 Lloyd genetics, but the males are totally unrelated 846 Calai and 780 Eaton. How about the 1420.5 Larue, another cross similar the 1370. Where, both females are 898 Knauss, and again, both the males are totally unrelated 845 Bobier and 846 Calai. The 1354 Checkon also has a cool little twist to it. There are others like this as well.

Just something to think about, when planning a breeding strategy.
I don’t have an explanation yet for seeds such as the 1097, etc.

Any thoughts on this?

Should provide interesting discussion.
I'm wondering if there are any good color producers that are relatively unrelated, that would make a vigor color cross?
