I was just wondering what everyones favorite plants of all time that they have grown are.

Mine has got to be the 750 Wentzell,(940 Wentzell x 810 Dill). This isnt a popular seed but boy is it fun to grow,It had the longest stems on a pumpkin I have ever seen, darkest green vine also,no other colors in this vine but dark green. The pumpkins on this plant when it first started out was a bright yellow with dark green candy cane strips. I grew this plant snake pattern and the pumpkin I grew off it went 260 Est. The pumpkin was almost white when done growing with just a little dark green around the stem end. Seeds out of this pumpkin is the largest I have ever seen. I guess this kinda says your plant that has grown your biggest pumpkin isnt always a favorite.
(Although I do Love the 1097 Beachy!)

Big Kahuna 25

Ontario, Canada.

1156 Larsen,

Produced my 781.5-04. The 1156 was a heavy fruit and it produced a fairly heavy progeny in my patches too. It was a great plant that survived a killing frost as a cold frame transplant. I gave this guy hardly any protection and it just kept on growing in its little 4' x 6' box on the ground. It was grown as a modified flag with the first two side vines left intact. The fruit was a nice oval shape with moderate ribs and a great tight blossom end and good orange colour.

I grew my 621 on 250 sq.ft this was a backup that I just pushed some dirt up and planted the plant. I did no soil prep at all. The 2nd 1101 grew my 615 and another 575 est. pumpkin. All of the pumpkins were very orange and the 615 went heavy. the reason I liked the plants is that the vines just laid down and were very easy to manage. They handled the heat better than some of my other plants also. I hope to grow this seed again in 2006.

845 Bobier to grow. I know some growers have trouble getting the main down but we've worked this out.

707 Toftness is also a very predictable plant.

Those are the only 2 that I've ever grown more than once. I've also observed them growing elsewhere with equal predictability.

I wouldn't feel right commenting on seeds I've only grown once.

more than once?

865 mettler- grew it 4 times. lost 2 of them before fruit set, but it grew my first 700+. gotta love that just for the memories.

815 Andersen - grew 4 times, lost one of them as a seedling. always agressive and thick. 2 pumpkins, and 1 squash:

535* Wolf - grown 3 times. carries on the agressiveness of the 815. always geen and a bit thick.

723 - well, can't argue with that.

the gr8 pumpkin

Norton, MA

1104.5 Hester grew my 557 (1104.5 Hester (898 Knauss X 845 Bobier) X Self). The 557’s stump was 24 inches in circumference. The biggest leaf was 42 inches long, and the main was 3-4 inches wide before the pumpkin. A deep stem split, and borer problems kept the weight down. AleX Noel.

hey you

Greencastle, PA

I'd have to say mine is the 805 Pukos. I grew one in 2003, I didn't have any pumpkins that year (I blame the rain). I lost another as a seedling in 2004.
