I received my seeds all labeled Kurilich today. Whoever sent them, I thank you very much, you were more than generous. Also, Marty Schnicker, you have been great as well. The chats via email are appreciated. I am waiting for some seeds from Eric Gerry, and it sounds like he will really load me up, so here is a PRE-thank you Eric. You have all been wonderful about this, and with the six inches of snow falling now, I CAN"T WAIT TILL SPRING!

Joe Kurilich. He just moved to michigan. I received a boat load of seeds from him also. Thanks Joe. Here's a link to show a pumpkin that HE entered at St. Johns this year.

My name is Joe I am originally from Litchfield Ohio. I moved to Mi a year and 3 month ago. I have been growing big pumpkins for a few years now (Nic Welty got me started). My personal best is 1029.5 from 2004. I have not keep a diary on BP (not much of a computer person). I did grow 4 plants this year and ended up with 3 pumpkins
(802, 676est, 629est).

Yo pumpkinjoe. What is the genetic background of the pollinator plant of the 802? I understand the pollinator was the 766 Kurilich 04. What were the parents of the 766??

Joe, I received your generous amounts of seed. I appreciate the help from a successful grower. I hope I can do the same with them. One question, has there been any problems with germination on seed that goes back to 2001 like some you sent me? I know not all seeds are guarenteed to germ, but just wondering if pumpkin seed loses vigor when it stays dormant so long.

Herbie Old seeds can germinate just as well as new ones there is a article on pumpkinnook.com about some 20+ year old seeds germinating.

I will vouch for the beauty of that 802. That thing was the 'real deal' for color and shape at St. Johns this year. High, round, symmetrical, and red-orange. And it was heavy to chart. Very nice fruit.

The cross of the 1029.5 Kurilich 04 is listed as (1230 Daletas F. x 1097 Beachy M.) at Briansinsanity.com.
What do you say Joe ? which one is it?

Herbie, I grew the 940 Kurilich 01 this year. It went to 659 estimated until it split. Don't worry about the seeds germinating or not.
