Russ, Im trying the grafting also since I read that posting on here.Im using two ag-pumpkin plants,Im going to wait a few more daysbefore i start grafting, I want to wait untill the first true leaf shows better. Ill keep you posted.

If you were short on space but had the seeds, and grafting works you could graft the male polimater plant on a side vine. Have the cross you want all on one plant? What do you think?

Boy, oh boy...this might make the naming (I.D.) system now in use sort of confusing...1501 Jones (### Brown '05 X ### Smith '04{graft} onto (### Jones)?? Ah well, progress has always been a little confusing!!!I grew, ate, and enjoyed purple cauliflower this year. Go figure... Peace, Wayne

Wayne, your right it is complicated. I have come up with a system of identification. In my case I have growing an active graft of the following.

CG 356 Landry 04 & 695*C Landry 04,(1301 Eaton 03 x Self)(771* Stellphlug 01 x 675* Hester 02)555*C Landry 05.

1. List the graft type. CG = Cleft Graft, etc...
2. Rootstock, Host
3. Type of rootstock, squash, pumpkin, etc....
4. Description of Rootstock, Clone or other.
5. Scion, Implant
6. Type of Scion, squash, pumpkin, etc....
7. Description of Scion, Clone or other.
8. Rootstock Cross.
9. Scion Cross.
10. Scion Progeny in any. 555*C Squash Clone.

PatchMaster, This idea sounds very good in theory. Matching multiple choices together to have an all encompassing plant. However the logistics are very difficult. It is very hard to get grafts to take on a older plant.

Russ, I couldnt get my graft to mend up. Do you try to almost butt up the two cut ends flush? I slid my smaller cut down inside my bigger cut just enough that the graft would stand up on it own. Didnt work for me.
