just wondering who is going to put some 2005 seeds in their patch this year and which ones they are going to try.

here are 3 i am going with in 2006 and why.

1. 1032 McMullen (1253 sperry x self) i am hoping the size, shape, color and heavy weight characteristics repeat themselves in the selfed cross. see pic in aggc. i got to see this one in person at our weigh off and can't say enough what a nice pumpkin it was.

2. 699 Bosworth (1260 weir x 1370 rose) dynamite cross with huge potential. i think this seed will be grown by quite a few growers in 2006 and will prove itself to be a hot seed in years to come.

3. 1333 connolly (1068 wallace x 1253 sperry) enough said about the 1068 genes, but the 1253 plant used to pollinate it also produced the 1214 connolly.

1. 818.5 Engel(1370 Rose x self) Need I say more :)
2. 510 Engel (454 Engel x 898 Knauss) The 454 is a seed that has a lot of the 801.5 Stelts in it. The 845 x 898 seem hot. I want to see what an 801.5 x 898 will do.
3. 757.5 A Engel(549.4 A Engel x self) Just because its the right thing to do. Plus I believe she may be telling this threw subliminal messages when I sleep.

As of right now the 2005 seeds I am planning to grow are:

1233 Reiss (670 Diagle X 801.5 Stelts) The 1233 was gorgeous and the 801 fruit was also a beauty. Both of the fruits were over the chart for weight!

125 Wolf (658 Wolf X 723 Bobier) The 658 is a selfed 846 Calai and the 723 pollinator grew Andy's 1407. I think this seed is going to be very HOT!

720.6 Noel (1068 Wallace X 1104.5 Hester). Will be crossing it with a 1068. A person's own seeds just seem to do better. The 720.6 could throw a heavy OTC, medium orange pumpkin (it's father 1104.5 grew my dark orange, though rough and heavy OTC, 557). So many more new ones I'd like to try, but the proven seeds just push in. AleX Noel.

I like the 1238.5 H Brunst (1370 x self) nice color
and the 1332 Werner (1420 LaRue x 1180 Daletas) I saw the 1332 in person and all I can say is WOW! I'd like to try and get it in the ground this year. I believe this one could be a sleeper, and may turn out to be a hot seed...we'll see!

I am thinking a 969 Ailts 2005 for sure....845 bobier x self. I like to grow unproven stuff, so, i suspect I will have majority of 05 seeds. Including, most likely, my own 1042 05 and maybe my own 1186 05. I think i will plant a 2005 LaRue seed as well. There was only ONE viable seeds in my 1186...it needs to be grown, but i am not sure if i will or if i will let a friend here in WI try it.

It's too early to say for sure what I'll grow. I will be planting my own 1011 Hunt (842 x 1420) though. I will also go with a couple proven seeds as well. That leaves me with two spots to fill with seeds from 2005. Too many great seeds out there to choose from & way too early to put my final list together. I'll know more in the last week in April.
