280 Beachy 04 (*218 Andrews 99 x 706 Knauss 01)
*218 Andrews 99 (*738 Stellpflug 97 x 879 Rockwell)
The 706 Knauss 01 weighed very heavy(1048 Cox x open)
Tom grew his 998 from the 280 this year.
Over 1000lbs and heavy yes but I wouldnt expect orange color from the 280 though.

i grew a 785 est off of the 280*. It was a lighter colored fruit until late in the season. It had uniform thick walls....i didnt get a chance to get it weighed. it was a solid fruit..no splits, etc. Crossed with the 1247 handy....should make for some interesting offspring. i would expect something from a light orange to a light yellow, to pinkish, to white color.

The 998 was my fastest grower this year. It, along with all my other pumpkins got diseased and didnt grow in September. In years past we have seen 2-300 lbs in September It stopped growing around the 23 of August. Given our growth curves from the past 5 years, it was on pace given its age and growing days left to grow an additional 300-400 pounds. It was way ahead of the 1097, or anything else in the patch for that matter. Dad's plants were a little less diseased than mine and got about 200 pounds after mine had stopped. I will be growing at least 2 of the 280 in competition this year. It was a very healthy, manageable plant.

I had a white colored one in the field, so Its not a sure bet for orange, but I think most of them will have a salmon color.

Hey Casey! Be sure to mention you put it in your worst spot! LOL

Hopefully that answers all your questions?
