Out of all the Bosworth crosses, why do I see this one getting so much consideration? I was thinking about the 845 for a while but I am becoming weary of the 1097 in it. Pretty much every one of them has got some powerful genetics, so what makes the 1446 x 1260 so appealing?

Pap mentioned he was going to plant one of them. I am wondering which one?

The 699 Bosworth is a 1260 Weir x 1370 Rose cross. As far as wanting to plant it, there does not seem to be very many seeds of that particular cross if any other than the 699. The Weir and the Rose have produced a quite few 1,000 pound plus pumpkins lately. And finally Bosworth promised a brand new 6-cylinder fuel injected weed wacker to who ever grows the first 1600 lb plus Bosworth. That weed wacker seems a little heavy if you ask me. Personally I would rather have the 4-cylinder. lol

oops, my bad on the cross. I didn't know about the offer. Good PR skills, Brooks haha. Doesn't the 1370 throw orange fruit? Maybe it will push some orange back into it.

I might have to wait and see, Brooks. Now, upgrade that deal from a weed whacker to a riding mower, and we'll talk! lol -Jim

The 1260 is alot like the 1370 also. Both sometimes throw nice orange, heavy OTC fruit (don't forget the BIG too). I would say it might be a good or great cross, for some reason it's not just a particularly "interesting" cross to me, don't know what that means (I don't mean to say that interesting has everything to do with great). gr8:
perhaps it starts out as an "interesting" cross, one that jussssssst doesn't seem likely at all....but the pollinator was the only plant with male flowers that day....

no offense intended, but have you SEEN the 935 Lloyd and the 865 Mettler?

it BECOMES a GREAT cross when the results asssssstound us with their magnitude...color, shape, complexity and/or WEIGHT....happens all the time.
hence, the above cross...and dozens more.

these words will be what i believe.

I wasn't saying that the cross didn't look great, it does. I guess what I meant by interesting was that it wasn't a formal backcross, or what many would define as hybrid vigor (the 1370 is 0.5 1260 already), or adding say +++OTC to an 846. It could turn out to be the next big cross, but you never know, it certainly has the genes behind it though. AleX Noel.

Here's the deal...it matters less what the CROSS is and more WHO grows the seed out. Stir, stir...

Dang, I dont know how i missed this post,!!..LMAO @ The weed wacker. Yes indeed-dee a almost brand new used weed wacker could be yours, I just fixed it today here on my kitchen table, I love the smell of stale gas while supper is on the stove.I now need to go to the living room and fix that oil leek coming from my tiller, this could be the runner up prize.

We need to vote on this seed for the VWO 2006. It's going to be a monster in my patch.
