Jim's post "VOODOO Genetics" prompted me to post this.
I'd like to hear your opinions on unproven seeds, that you think could become hot, if they were given a chance. Maybe some of these seeds will be grown, after someone reads this. I'd like to hear your opinions on why you like these crosses. Here are one I like:

666 Hester 04(898 Knauss X 846 Calai)....It was estimated at 666 lbs. after only 30 days of pumpkin growth(Wow!). Brett grew an 1144 lber. off an 846 Calai(it went quite heavy to the chart), in the same year. I'm not sure if this was the pollinator, but if it was, that's another plus. A negative?...the 666 had a DMG classification.

781.5 Frantz 05 (1101 Northrup x 1125 Frantz)
Mike has gone out of his way to inform people of this cross and has made many offers to provide seeds. I guess you would call that the VooDoo part.

I have two that I really like.

1. 699 Bosworth (1260 Weir X 1370 Rose)

2. 125 Wolf (658 Wolf X 723 Bobier) The 658 is a selfed 846 Calai, the 723 pollinator grew Andy's 1407!

961 Wallace ( 845 Bobier x 898 Knauss). It was grown the same year as the 1068 and 500 Wallace. The 961 and the 1068 were both polinated by the same 898 Knuass plant. But they were grown from two different 845 Bobier plants.

This is an old seed but I just love the cross. The 890 Houghton (723 X 801.5). I was about to grow it in 03, but no. Also (and yes I know somebody's gonna smack me) I sure do like that 720.6 Noel 05. It's 1104.5 (898 X 845) X 1068 (845 X 898). What a great cross you say? I have to agree. I'll be planting it. AleX Noel.

I'm pretty sure I'll be planting one of the new hot seeds this here. I just hope I am aware of which one IS the new hot seed before culling day so I don't cull out the wrong one. lol!

we gave out a ton of 1048 wallace seedss from a 500x1068 that i grew in 2004. the pumpkin was a low rider with small stem end and large blossom. i called it "the beatle"

last year i planted the 1048.we had a real good one going that unfortunately threw a shoe early on at about 475 to 500 lbs. when we cut her open the dam thing was very thick and may have been the king of the patch had she made it
i would probably plant it again this year.

Does anyone know if there are any 720.6 Noel 05 seeds still available? I am looking for a few to grow in Europe. Seems like a good cross. I'd grow it if I had it.

Brad, I think Alex is still offering them up to anyone. I've been meaning to get a bubble out myself if I could find the time.

I suspect the 781.5 Frantz, 699 Bosworth will be planted heavily.
And the 861 Fredricks by several southern growers.

And I'd like to see what the 853 Wallace does.

Jim

ps. And everyone and their brother will want an 1101 Northrup when I take it over 1000lbs this year ha!

Hi Brad and Jim, you want one, you got one. I had a reatively low count compared to the amount of people I send to, but I have plenty left for anyone. I only usually send one per person but for anyone that plans to grow it I will send another. Just put in a little reminder of what you're looking for, and also if you will be growing it so I can send the correct number. Thanks,
