Thanks to a very generous fellow Canadian grower, the North Shore Boyz group is able to "kick it up a notch" with the 1016 Daletas, 869.5 Calai and 670 Daigle.

The Lawman comes to the party with the 869.5 and has no patch to grow in so I have donated 1/2 my main patch for him or he can grow in a new patch that has been given by my wife to him for the cause (she gave up her veggie garden)!!

With these 3 great seeds, what would some of you more experienced growers and genetics gurus suggest we do with our pollinations this year? My buddy Steve is also growing the 1005 Mombert.

Then, who wants seeds??

Glenn...I'll comment again, sweet line up bro! I'm definately interested!
Thats very cool of you and your wife to give up some room for Lawman!!!

Here's what "I" would do:(far from a expert though)
670 X self
1005 X 869.5
869.5 X 670
1016 X 869.5

That's really cool of you and your wife to donate some growing area for Lawman. Unfortunately we all will never be on a level playing field when it comes to space. Good work helping a friend out. Grow em big, Lawman and North Shore Boyz. 1016x670 and reverse but that's by no means the experienced input you are seeking.

If I was doing the crosses, I'd make:
670 X 869.5
1016 X 670
and then shiznit's ideas for the rest. Not an expert though. AleX Noel.

1016 x 670
869.5 x 670
670 x self

next year
1016x670 X 869.5x670
869.5x670 X self
670x670 X 1016x670
670x670 X 869.5x670

year after that
(869.5x670 X self) X (1016x670 X 869.5x670)
(869.5x670 X self) X (670x670 X 869.5x670)
(670x670 X 869.5x670) X (1016x670 X 869.5x670)

Those are some stellar seeds!
670 X 869.5
869.5 X 670
1016 X 670
1005 X self?
These crosses sound good. No expert here either.
Good luck!

who wants seeds.....are ya kidding me?
put me at the top of the list, dude!

ha hah ah you can cross everything with everything
and you cannot go wrong at all...this would be like
"organizing" your hundred-dollar bills;
they'll all spend the same! out of the ordinary would maybe be 1005 Mombert X 670...but i don't have the AGGC
here at home to back me up: best of luck---eric

if you check the aggc the 869 is by far the most consistent orange producer. so i would use that as your male for all your crosses

Good thinking Dave.
The 869.5 Calai also can go quite heavy to the chart.

Glenn,
Nice line up there - I hope they do well for you guys !
as for the crosses... there are lots of good suggestions already posted. personally I was thinking along the lines of what Dave suggested 869 as the male for the 1016 and 670. then I'd use the 670 as the male for the 869.
I guess it depends on what you are looking for and which seed you think has the best characteristics... the caharacteristics that you what matched up with the others.
... and really no matter what you do choose with those 3 - they will be good crosses.

The 869.5 is one of the best for consistant shape and color, its been heavily planted and has only produced 3 over 1000. The 670 and 1016 lines have more size potential and can produce very nice looking fruit. After a heavy planting this coming season the 670 may prove to produce some monsters, big and orange monsters. BIG and orange.

I also have 670 and 869.5 and will cross them both ways. Should be great crosses...this nu-B thinks. Hoping my 1233 shows up & curious if putting 670 back into it is a good idea? Peace, Wayne

Nice seeds Glenn. I hope you'll be kind enough to donate some of your 2006 seeds to next year's membership drive. I wouldn't mind a couple myself.

We should have some awesome fruit this year. I'm very thankful for Glenn and his wife, that's an awesome gesture. I guess we'll be growing some fruit together this year.

But I have found a patch just out of town, that I'm going to share with a buddy of mine, and I plan on bringing a HUGE fruit to the weigh off, just to keep the rivalry going. Gotta keep the edge.

New season, new patch, bring it on!
