WOW, light. The mother of the 1004 was the 654 Houghton, correct? Wat are those genetics? I have the 1004 packet somewhere, somewhere, but I'm almost positive it's from the 654. AleX Noel.

I think that the environment plays a big role. The potential to grow heavy OTC fruit is inherited, however the conditions have to be right to exploit that potential. That's my opinion at least. Maybe it had another split that went unnoticed and allowed some internal rot, causing it to weigh light. That's just speculation though.

You bring up a good point. My first speculation was that it may have sat split (still growing, but drying out) in the patch for weeks before it finally stopped and got weighed. I bet somebody could do really well with this seed. AleX.
