So lucky us, We just so happened to have ticket #884673.

The envelope contained:

1) 783 00' (500 Hebb X 810.5 stelts) Grew 2 over 1300, 2 1000, 5 over 900

2) 828 99' (937 Momobert X 697 Ciliberto) Grew 808 Daletas & the 692 Lawrence

3) 961 01' (611.5 Hester X 846 Calai) Grew 1 over 1300, 1 over 1100, 6 over 900

4) 976 03' (848 Calai X 898 Knauss) Grew the 801 Checkon

5) 1123 04' (1236 Eaton X 846 Calai) Grew the 1200.5 Urena (I personally saw that one at Elk Grove in 05')

6) 1230 01' (705 Stelts X 846 Calai) Grew 3 over 1000, 8 over 900, 2 over 800

So the choice is a tough one. We will have our own 689.5 05' (611.5 Hester X Self) in the patch as well. there are several other contenders to be determined later.

If you're gonna cross in with your 689.5 I'd plant the 961.

Personally I'd pick the 783. Has thrown some monsters. Also has a decent chance of nice orange color and heavy to the charts. It's also one of the older seeds on your list.

My 2 cents are that you grow what you think is a hot seed in your area. I would grow the 1123 because it might do better in the area that you are in. If yiou saw the 1200.5, and it was in your area, grow the 1123. A good example is the 582 hester. It does great in New Hampshire, but not as well in other areas. But ultimately, any seed that is picked has the possibility of growing a monster.

We are growing the 1123 this year because it did do well in our area. The 1200.5 Urena was grown in Napa which is only 30 miles east of us. Good luck and I hope to see you at Elk Grove.

We grew the 1230 years ago and it was a great punkin, but flat vined early on us (common I hear) the fruit was around 600# or so in a poorly cultivated patch. We tried to grow the 961 but it failed to germinate..... If I had one I would fire up the 783 its a hottie and getting kinda old.

Get a 1334 daletas and grow that! Think outside the box

I'd go with the 1123. Although, Dr.Greenthumb's idea sounds pretty good too.
