I am growing the following seeds, and was wondering what crosses others would make. I have a few ideas on what would be good, but wanted some feedback from different perspectives.

709 Fisher 05 (1028 Fisher x 582 Hester)
749.5 Fisher 05 (1446 Eaton x 898 Knauss)
849.5 Fisher 05 (1225 Jutras x open and 898 knauss)
994 Fisher 05 (1133 Demers x 898 Knauss)
1104 Hester (898 Knauss x 845 Bobier)
1123 Daletas (1236 Eaton x 846 Calai)
1139 Sherwood (822 Hester x 695 Handy)
1180 Daletas (898 Knauss x 846 Calai)
1225 Jutras (1016 Daletas x 845 Bobier)
1233 Reiss (670 Daigle x 801 Stelts)
1370 Rose (1260 Weir x 712 Kuhn)
1420 LaRue (1104 Hester x 1180 Daletas)

The squash crosses are obvious as I only have two:

881* Beauchemin 05 (748 Koch x 980 Razo)
229.5* Hathorn (821 Garrell x 703 Smith)

Thanks for your feedback!

Dale is the 229 starting to look any better now? It should turn into a very good growing plant.

Thomas,

It is still touch and go with it. The cots had a hard time breaking away from the shell, and ended up rotting. Started a back-up , and ended up replacing my other squash, the 834 Gadberry because it died as the cots never greened up. Kept nursing the 229.5 along and will know more in a week or two. Looks like it will be ok. The other 229.5 you sent me grew my 622 last year. You growing?

Wow. All Star lineup! By the way, Mike N. ran some reports for the Michigan group on seeds most likely to : a) throw a thick walled fruit (over the charts), b) throw dark color, and c) throw an overall big fruit. In our most recent newsletter we published a Top 25 list for each category. Only one seed made the top 25 of all three lists...
1180 Daletas. Best overall performing seed out there right now in my book.
Here's my list of crosses:
709 x 1180
749 x 1123
849 x 1225
994 x 1104
1104 x 1139
1123 x 1180
1139 x 1180 or 1370 (needs color!)
1180 x 1370
1225 x 1180
1233 x 1370
1370 x 1420
1420 x 1370

Best of luck...

Mt Greene...er....Fred...You are right, it was on the list till the last minute when the PGVG decided to use the 1139 Sherwood for their classic competition. The 1173 will be in my patch in '07!

I should add that not all these plants are mine, the 709, 789.5, 229.5, 1123 and 1233 are being grown by other family members, and the 849.5 and 994 are early fair plants being cared for by all of us.
