Gordon:

One that I know of in Michigan...360OTT, 1040 lbs, 6.3% heavy. Pretty good color (but not as good as 1273 was).

I got a 429 off of it with minimal care. There were 2 or 3 more at the Indiana weigh off. All of them had great color The potential is certainly there for a big one.

Gordon,

I grew the 1273 Howard in '06 and will again in '07. The 1040 pound fruit that Frank Edwards describes was a nice steady grower. I don't recall it estimating at more than 25 plus pounds per day at any point. The pumpkin developed deep massive blossom end splits in early September. The fruit is still rock solid today. I agree with Frank: good color, but not as good as the 1273; smooth skinned; shallow ribs. The plant was very vigourous.

I know this is only the first year out, but if your looking for a seed that will likely produce very large pumpkins with good color you may want to give the 1273 a try.

Joe
