Can I get some recommendations on seeds that are 1/2 1068 Wallace and the other parent is a known producer of heavy, tall, round, nicely ribbed, medium/deep orange pumpkins?

Thanks!

the wallaces had

1,110 this year which was the 1370 rose female ( orange ) with the 1068 as the male pollinator
also
1,347 which was 1068 wallace female with 1370 rose (orange)as the male pollinator
also
1,174 which was 1068 wallace female with the 1225 jutras (super orange) as the male pollinator

Here is a suggested seed that I beleive may have great potential for what you are after:
Nick Hamilton's seed from '06, I think it was around 465 pounds:
1032     Dieffenbaugher x 1068 Wallace
That 1032 is (1097 Beachy x 1432 Carlson) and produced orange pumpkins.
The 1068 Wallace used as the male also produced nice orange pumpkins.
This is a killer cross for size as it has the 1068 as well as some top 1097 Beachy genes to add even more growth potential.
And, the most amazing part is that both parents were nice orange color.
A shameless plug for a good Ohio seed. I suspect if you ask Nick Hamilton for seeds he will gladly give you some.

Did anyone do a 1068 Wallace x 1233 Reiss this year?
The # 30 Beachy cross 06 (1253 Sperry x 1233 Reiss)is close to that, might be better.
1253 Sperry is (1068 Wallace x 1180 Daletas)

I did a 1076 Werner X 1068 Wallace cross last year. The pumpkin is known as the 502.5 Vincent 05. It was a real nice red/orange Calai mottled pumpkin. We grew the seed this year and the pumpkin went down at 739 lbs from a Dill ring. It was a personal best until we weighed other heavier pumpkins this fall. The 739 was a nice orange pumpkin, but not as nice as the Mother. I sent out most of the seeds from the 502.5 last year, but if you wanted to give it a try, i'm sure I could find you a couple.

I did 1173Macari x 603.5Muller and got the 702Andrews06 (picked in August). Although not a 1068 the 1173 has alot of 1068 and very silimar features.

I crossed the 1084 Langevin [1068 x 1097.5] with the 575 Berard 1370 x 1420, to get my 812. It had a nice dark orange. I have high hopes for big and orange from it's offspring. KathyT

Anyone interested in seeds E mail me --foreva8@adelphia.net
